Yasal

Legal
Copyright Notice (DMCA)
Last updated: 19 September 2026
AnimeRank respects intellectual property rights and takes notices from rights holders seriously. This page explains our legal status, how to file a notice to have content removed, the counter-notice right of the person who shared it, and how the process concludes. Notices in DMCA (US Digital Millennium Copyright Act) format are accepted from international rights holders.
1. Our Legal Status: Hosting Provider
AnimeRank is a hosting provider under Turkish Law No. 5651. Content on the Platform is shared by users over a peer-to-peer (P2P) network; AnimeRank does not pre-screen or editorially select it and, under Article 5 of the Law, is not obliged to investigate its legality. The same article sets out our duty to remove unlawful content once notified; the process below exists precisely for that.
Law No. 5651, Art. 5 (1): A hosting provider is not obliged to monitor the content it hosts or to investigate whether an unlawful activity is taking place.
Law No. 5651, Art. 5 (2): A hosting provider is obliged to remove unlawful content it hosts once notified in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of this Law.
2. What a Notice Must Include
We can only process a notice that contains all of the following. For incomplete notices we ask for the missing information, which pauses the 72-hour clock until it is provided.
- Identification of the work: the title of the work you believe is infringed (anime, season, episode; state clearly if it is a subtitle or artwork) and evidence of ownership (licence, registration or letter of authority).
- Location of the content: the full URL or URLs of the infringing content on the Platform. General statements such as "all of anime X on the site" are not sufficient; each link must be listed.
- Your contact details: full name or organisation, e-mail address and, if available, phone or postal address.
- Good-faith statement: a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent or the law.
- Accuracy statement: a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf, made in the knowledge that a false statement carries legal liability.
- Signature: physical or electronic (typing your full name at the end of the e-mail is sufficient).
Send the notice to support@animerank.tv with "Copyright Notice" in the subject line. For bulk notices, attaching the links as a table or list speeds things up.
3. Notice-and-Takedown Process
When a valid notice arrives, we remove first and review afterwards. The steps:
- Acknowledgement. Receipt is confirmed by e-mail within one business day; if anything is missing, the same reply says what is needed.
- Removal. For a complete notice, access to the content is disabled within 72 hours at the latest: the episode or subtitle is removed from the Platform and deleted from our media servers. Written confirmation is sent to the notifier.
- Uploader informed. The user who added the content is told the reason for removal, the identity of the notifier (at organisation level) and their right to counter-notice.
- Counter-notice. The uploader may file a reasoned counter-notice within 10 days (see section 4). It is forwarded to the rights holder.
- Outcome. If the rights holder does not document that they have started legal proceedings within 10 business days of receiving the counter-notice, the content may be restored; if they do, it stays down until a court decides.
Orders from courts or the Association of Access Providers are executed immediately according to their terms, independently of this process.
4. Counter-Notice
If content you shared was removed because of a mistaken notice (for example you are the rights holder, you hold a licence, the content was misidentified, or the notice refers to a different work), you may file a counter-notice. It must include:
- The location of the removed content (its URL before removal).
- A statement that you believe in good faith the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, and why.
- Your full name, e-mail and postal address, and your consent to these being forwarded to the rights holder.
- A statement that you accept the jurisdiction of the courts of Turkey, and your signature.
Send the counter-notice by replying to the removal e-mail or to support@animerank.tv with "Counter-Notice" in the subject line.
5. Repeat-Infringer Policy
Accounts with more than one valid notice are warned; on the third valid notice, or as soon as infringement is shown to be deliberate, the account is permanently closed and remaining membership time is not refunded. Re-uploading removed content is grounds for immediate closure.
6. Bad-Faith and Mistaken Notices
If you are unsure whether your notice is valid, you may ask us first; asking does not affect your right to file.
7. Subtitles and Fansub Credits
Turkish subtitles come from credited fansub groups and from the Kurenai AI translation pipeline. A fansub group that does not want its translation on the Platform may file a notice through the same process; the group name and a sample of the translation are enough for matching. You may also report subtitles whose credits were stripped or misattributed; these are corrected.
